Tracy's Birthday Party @ Rockmount (18th September 2009)

Well.. two days after my birthday comes Tracy's birthday. A bunch of her secondary friends wanted to celebrate with her and off we went to a bar called Rockmount. Quite a number of friends turn out that night and we just realize that one of them has the same birth date with Tracy. What a coincidence!

There was a singer singing some oldies and retro songs. It was okie. Through out the whole night we just had beers and I think we all had at least consumed 16 jugs! All was getting a little tipsy and chaos happenned.. ha ha... Well, would like to thank all for celebrating Tracy's birthday. It was sure a night to be remembered.

Tracy was DRUNK!!! She really had a wonderful night!

My Birthday - 16th September 2009

Well well... times flies by quickly and it's my birthday again... getting older and older. Tracy and I went for a seafood dinner in Hau Kee Restaurant, Cheras. We ordered some crabs and we could not finish it. Then after the dinner, we head to SkyBar, Hotel Traders for a drink. 1st time there and got a great seat along the glass panel. Had a great view of the Petronas tower. Although it was a Wednesday night, but the place is still packed with patrons. Quite a lot of "leng lui" too... hee hee..... Overall the environment is good and so are the prices for the drinks! ... Worth a visit!

Wanna thank Tracy for the lovely night! Love you!

A simple Valentine day

It's Valentines Day, Tracy and I decide to have a simple luncheon instead to celebrate the Love day. It was a luncheon because later in the night my family will be celebrating my brother's birthday together. Anyway, we went strolling around Pandan Indah to see what restaurant we could find. Tracy wanted to eat steamboat but to our dismay, we could not find any during lunch time. So we decide to go to a BBQ restaurant. The menus were then presented to us and we saw they serve steamboat too! Ah, it is like a wish came through for Tracy. We ordered a single pax steamboat, some bacon and lamb BBQ, some sushi and a few bottles of beers. We had great time enjoying ourselves and talking about the old days. Come to think of it, I already lost count of how many years I'd been celebrating Valentines Day with Tracy...:p

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY TO ALL!

Another night @ my home!

Another gathering at my house. Met a new friend brought by Kirk Keong. Nice to meet you Tommy!

Chinese New Year!

This Chinese New Year, a bunch of friends gather together for a dinner and lou sang. The turn out was about 15 people. They are :-

Gary & Tracy
Kevin & Rachel & Audrey
KP & Lay Hoon
Mark & Yean
Butt & Avis
Pao & Esther
Kirk Keong
Yandsen & Eva

The lou sang session was a fun one cause there were 2 tables. We gather in one table and then off to the next which means we lou sang twice. Haha. I brought some red wines and Butt brought a bottle of whisky too. The dinner was good but costly. Anyway, the dinner ended at about 9.30pm and we went to Lunar Bar for 2nd round.

It is my 1st time to Lunar Bar and it was good. They have a great view of KL city. We were busy snapping pictures away. Since it was a ladies night, the ladies need not pay and comes with a free ladies drink. As for the guys, we ordered a bottle of Martell. Oh ya, another friend join in. It was Thomas and his GF Seok Peik. The party there was then continued to my house for a chinese tea drinking. We chatted about all things. I think it was about 3am the gang went home.

Ah... Visit to Cheryl house as usual each year. Brought my kids along as they long to reunite with Cheryl kids Simone and Keagan. Yes, again they were screaming, jumping and crying... what do you expect from kids wor? The adults played mahjong as usual. See the mahjong queens picture below.. hahaha

Kiku Zakura & Alexis Bistro @ GE Mall Ampang

Yup, we met up again on Friday night for dinner and drinks. But this time it wasn't me who organize the outing. It was Ah Pao. He had ask quite a number of friends to go but in the end turn out only 4 of us but still we enjoyed the night. Actually should be 5 of us but as usual Pang Yew the Fei Kei Yau ffk again. Butt, Tracy and I went to Great Eastern Mall early for some shopping and dinner. We decide to try out the newly renovated Japanese cuisine Kiku Zakura. Remembered the last time there, the food was good. This time though the price has increased maybe due to their renovation. But sadly, the food was not up to our expectation. The sukiyaki broth was too sweet and my chicken teriyaki was deeply fried. Might not return unless their standard rises back to what it use to be.

Then at about 9.40pm, Ah Pao arrived and off we went to Alexis Bistro located on the ground floor. I have always wanted to go there for a long time but did get to do so. Now I was excited. As we're walking into the premises, we bonk into my cousin. He is there too with his girlfriend. What a coincidence. Anyway, we were lucky to grab a good table with a view of the stage. Yes, every Friday and Saturday night, they have live Jazz performance. Heard from reviews, it is always fully packed with Jazz fans and it was. At about 10pm, all tables were taken up. Ah Pao who had not taken his dinner ordered the Fish & Chips and was pleased with it. We also order a bottle of white wine. We normally will not order white wine as we don't like it but somehow we want to try again and again it failed to sastisfy us. Should had order the red wine instead. Tracy ordered a Nutty Chocolate cake and it was very very nice indeed. Sharp at 10.30pm, the band starts to perform. The band was called Gruv Avenue. Some of the songs they played was good and some were just so so but the crowd seems to be happy. After gulping down the white, we happily ordered a red. Ah... so much better. Then the waiter came over with another bottle of red wine. He told us that my cousin had paid for the bottle and wanted us to enjoy it. Aiyah... should have waited for another 10 minutes then we will save money for the red wine we ordered... Hahaha.... We had great chats that night and the party ended at about 12.30am with a bottle of red wine in my hand!

Our 6th Anniversary (8th January 2009)

It has been six years since Tracy agreed to marry me. January 8th is our anniversary day and we both had a wonderful day. It was a normal working routine for us that day and at 5pm we were both home getting ready for the night out. Tracy is actually kinda tired after taking care of Oswald who was hospitalized the day before but she really wanted to spend time with me on this special occasion. Me too actually as I had plan ahead a few days ago.We depart from home to Pavillion. Once there, we were hungry indeed. I actually plan to have a Japanese charcoal steak for dinner but Tracy wanted to have Chinese food. So we went to LiJin Seafood restaurant located on the 6th floor. Guess what we ordered?

1. Shark’s Fin soup with Crab Meat
2. Hong Kong Style Suckling Pig
3. Braised Whole Abalone
4. River Prawn Noodle
5. Vegetable with Almond
6. Tiger Beer

The dinner was a delicious one especially the whole Abalone. It was our 1st time taking a whole abalone. The shark’s fin soup also very good. We chatted and she says is this what I can do only for the special occasion. I was like huh? She says I could plan so many surprises for my friends but when it comes to her nothing much wor. I told her ya, I only plan for dinner, shopping and movie only. I think she was expecting me to give her a surprise. Anyway, the bill came and the total amount is near to RM300. Although pricey but it is worth it. After the dinner, we head straight for shopping. It was a weekday so the complex wasn’t that pack with people. Tracy bought me a box of underwear’s which has colorful patterns on it. I was like……….. Then I bought her a Chinese style blouse which I think fits her very nicely. I actually planned to go for a movie but Tracy says she might fall asleep so we continued shopping. We walked for almost 2 hours and Tracy felt tired and wanted to have a drink and later on back to our home. Now here’s where the real surprise is.

I told her that I’ll bring her to a nice place for a drink. We drove out of Pavillion and went to Picollo Hotel. She asks why here? I told her that there is one very nice place on the 9th floor that I longed to go. We went into the lift and once we got out, Tracy was blushed and surprised. It was actually the hotel room floor. She says me very bad for cheating on her. I took her to room 916. Once entered, she was shocked that I had booked a Suite. She then noticed a bottle of red wine on the table and a present. She then says she had nothing to change into but I told her I had already prepare everything such as clothes, shampoo, etc etc earlier on and they are in the closet. She then says mom will kill us for not going home. I told her not to worry about it because I had earlier informed my mom about it and ask her to keep it a secret. I told Tracy, is this Surprise good enough for you? She hugged me and says Thank You.

We had some red wine and chatted. The rest of the night I will not go into detail lar. Hee hee. The next day, we had San Francisco Coffee for breakfast and off we went back to work. A great night with my love one and wanted to say to her “I LOVE YOU”.

Tommy & Louis Wedding @ Palace of the Golden Horses (4th January 2009)

This is the 1st wedding dinner that Tracy and I attended in the new year 2009. Tommy was a college friend of ours. The dinner was held in the Palace of the Golden Horses hotel and the theme for the night was "Shanghai Night". We were all required to wear clothes from the 50's - 60's. The couple has spend quite a sum of money into their night. The stage decoration was great. There are dances and singers to entertain the guest. They even had a short movie clip of themselves. During the wedding, we met with a lot of other collegemates too. It's been almost 10 years. The red wine was good and we really enjoyed the night. I was pretty drunk that night. Tracy and I would like wish Tommy and Louis to live a happy married life.

Reaches there at 12pm on 19th Dec 2008. Had lunch and the ladies went straight for shopping. We guys then went for snooker. Later in the night, the groom Vteck suggest karaoke and off we go. Another Surprise but gone bad!

Pang Yew (Ah Pong) birthday is just around the corner, so again we decide to surprise him. Dunno why, maybe it is the "Surprise Season"... hahaha... He is actually busy with work so we had to use an excuse that it was Rachel birthday. I was afraid that he might not turn up so I ask him to buy the cake. We went to Robson Restaurant in Taman Seputeh. It was raining cats and dogs outside. All the time we were congratulating Rachel and wishing her best wishes. We drank a lot of beer and had some great chats. After the dinner, the cake was brought out. It was written "Happy Birthday Rachel". The cake was place in front of Rachel and we sang the birthday song....

Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, Happy Birthday to PANG YEW ! Happy birthday to you!

We push the cake in front of Pang Yew. We remove Rachel name on the cake and replace it with a self print name of him. He was kinda shocked but later on we only realized that he had guess what we're up to and even paid the bill. So in the end, a surprise gone bad and he had bought us dinner and even a cake for himself... hahaha... but still, we had a wonderful night!

Aren't we too old for these stuff? Next will be Bantwan's birthday. The surprise is to not give him a party at all... let us just forget about it... hee hee...

How are you mate?

We heard so much about Sylvia's Ireland boyfriend and finally I got the chance to meet him yesterday. We set for a luncheon meet over at Sg Wang. I actually expected him to be a fat and mature guy as what I recall seeing him in Sylvia's handphone but I was wrong. He is actually quite fit and looks a lot younger. Anyway, we sat in the cafe enjoying the food. He was quite, maybe I wasn't friendly enough. I then ordered a bucket of beers to get things going and it did. He loves beers and mentioned to me it is their culture back in their country to have beer whenever they could. He says beers here in Malaysia are cheaper compare to theirs. I told him that it is even cheaper in Bangkok, Indonesia and Cambodia! We had a great time talking just about anything. We were there for 3 hours and we already drank 3 buckets of beers!! We parted our ways by 4pm. But that is not the end, we met up again in the night!

Called Kvin, Butt and Pao to have a drink with the Irish guy. They all agreed. Venue was then set at Thai Club in KL but sadly the Irish is just wearing shorts and slippers! We then divert to The Laundry Bar in The Curve. Drank a few more jugs of beer and went home.

This western guy can really drink man! We all already blur blur but he still wanna go on drinking and the only thing Sylvia could do is just shake her head! Hahaha. Unbelievable! What a beer day! Can't imagine if I were to go to Ireland to visit him. Sure die lar!

De Solvang @ Solaris

Alright, why did I say that my mom won't be happy for long in my previous post? I think you can guess it. Yup, I went for a drinking session with my friends right after my mom's cake cutting ceremony. Hee hee... Leaving my 2 kids with her... She said that I'm very clever, make her happy happy then suddenly throw my kids for her to care.. hahaha... she just ask me to come home early and drink less... what a great mom I had!

Alrite, about the night drinking session. Why we had a gathering? Cause our lovely friend Liz Lee was here in KL. She is based in Penang and still single. So guys out there, do contact me for further enquiries... haha. At 1st, we actually planned to go to a Jazz bistro called Alexis in Ampang. There's a live performance there too. As I was on the way, Josh Wee who reach there 1st says the place is full house. Unbelievable, never thought there will be soo much Jazz lovers in KL. Anyway, we then change venue and Solaris came to my mind. Heard so much of the place so decided to try it out. We reach there and notice there is quite a number of pubs and bistros but not so much of patrons. We then choses one bistro called De Solvang as the music is relaxing.

The drinks sold here isn't cheap but expected lar. A jug of beer costs RM58++. Ordered a few jugs of beers, had some great chats and enjoyed the music played. Ohya, the beer ladies there are kind of sweet too. Hee hee.

Divino @ One Bangsar

It was Hari Raya eve and since it is holiday tomorrow, we decided to celebrate it too. So off we went to Divino Wine Bistro at One Bangsar along with a few friends. This bistro was runned by the same boss of Denise Wines. I have heard of the place for quite sometime and the thing that attracts me is that they had a wine cellar there where we could purchase retail prices of the wines and savour in the bistro. No extra charge or corkage. I love wines.

We reach at about 8.30pm and the place was not pack. We ordered our dinner which was surprisingly not that expensive and could actually consider cheap for a place in Bangsar. Anyway, after placing the order, off we went to choose the red wine. The price range is from RM50++ to RM12000++ per bottle. Of course we did not get the 5 digit bottle lar. Hee hee. Was recomended a fruity and soft wine for starters. It was called Pinot Noir. Not strong at all but the ladies would love it. Food was not bad and we later on ordered another bottle. This time I chose Carbernet, a level higher than Pinot Noir.

Then a few more friends joined us and he chose another bottle Carbernet Sauvignon Merlot. Ah.. even stronger.. love it. We were chatting away and soon we ordered another bottle Shiraz this time which is the strongest in flavor. One of my friend got a bit high and went for a nap. Hahaha. It was a great wine night indeed.
